What I wore: on the beach

the details
shirt - c/o Romwe
skirt - thrifted / vintage
tights - Amazon
socks - Forever 21
shoes - c/o Wanted Shoes

This is one of my favorite skirts. I actually kind of hate wearing it because I'm afraid of ruining it. I feel that way about a good portion of my clothes though. I've always been the kind of person who likes to get dirty when I go outside. If there's a puddle, I'd love to splash in it. Mud? I want to squish my toes in it. A tree down? Of course I want to climb all over it. As a child I had distinct "play clothes" and "school clothes" and now as an adult, I'm trying to break that habit (I mean, I don't go to school anymore obviously, so I guess they'd now be "estate sale clothes" Haha) or at least make the line a little blurrier. Just because I'm going to take a walk on the beach or in the woods doesn't mean I need to wear my play clothes. I can go outside, not get completely dirty - and if I do my clothes can be washed! It's so not as big a deal as I make it in my head.

We've been spending so much time at the beach lately, I love it. Even if I do really love the beach in the winter it's so nice to go there and not freeze my butt off. We spent this particular evening picking up rocks. Right now our beach is mostly rocks, almost all of the sand has disappeared. While that would really suck if I had plans of playing in the sand, I really just prefer being on the beach looking for treasures and enjoying the sights and sounds. Plus there are so many cool rocks! Not to sound like a total weirdo but I could seriously spend all day on the beach just looking for cool rocks and photographing them. They come in so many colors and patterns, it's just amazing.

Hope you have a fabulous Thursday!
xoxo
