After an estate sale dry spell (there were NONE for such a long time!) Kevin and I have had some awesome luck lately. We stumbled upon four of them last Sunday, it was pretty amazing! Every estate sale I go to leads me to believe I like estate sales more than thrifting *gasp!* It's just so stinken' fun to legally be able to go to someone's home and rummage through all their things. I'm nosy, what can I say?
This little wiener dog! When I found him he was in the dining room of the home with a pack of crackers in him. I had no idea what I'd do with him, seeing as we don't really eat crackers that often, nor do I really worry about where I'm going to put my package of crackers when I do eat them. But there was no way I could leave this little fella behind. Turns out he fits perfectly under my iMac and all my sticky notes look adorable inside of him. Two bucks well spent if you ask me!
I found this ring holder at an estate sale. It was just hours before it ended on closing day so I only paid a dollar for this and an few other awesome little goodies (vintage postcards, and a folding sewing basket.) I actually had no idea what it was but I overheard the woman who was running the sale trying to sell it to someone else and it clicked which items she was saying was a ring holder. It would have been awkward to walk over and be like "Yeah, just let me have that..." so I walked out of the room and finished the rest of the house before heading back to grab my little swan. Luckily it was still there!
Last but not least I bought two boxes of slides for 50 cents. I seriously hunt for slides everywhere we go but always come up empty handed. I can't even count the number of slide boxes I've excitedly opened to only be left broken hearted. So when I opened these and found slides I basically said "I don't care what they heck is on them, they're mine now!"
Turns out they are from Miss Helen Burke's vacation! She traveled to Milan, Rome, Zurich, Leningrad, and Moscow in July of 1962.
I love how snazzy everyone is dressed too. I wonder if Helen is the female in the photos. I wish her closet still had some of those fabulous clothes, sadly they were packed to the brim with nightgowns instead. I didn't see a single item of clothing that wasn't meant to wear to bed.
What awesome thing(s) have you found lately?

Here are three favorite recent thrifty finds, all of which are from estate sales!

The photo above is kind of a lie, well it's just to show off what the cute little swan looks like because this is what he really looks like right now...
Plus there are some rings that don't even fit! I didn't even realize I had so many.

Here are a few of my favorites...
I was actually surprised at what nice colors the slides had, the blue skies just make the picture! I really can't pick a favorite from those five. They all have something that just draws me in.I love how snazzy everyone is dressed too. I wonder if Helen is the female in the photos.
