3 Thrifty Finds

Boy, it's been a while since I'd done a 3 thrify finds post! To be honest, we haven't been doing much thrifting, especially compared to last year when that is basically all we did. I certainly miss it but it's been so busy around here.

Not to mention the outrageous prices I've been finding lately. I have a few stores I keep to myself that I normally snag awesome vintage at and lately their prices make me want just give up my absolute favorite hobby. It's really discouraging to see thrift store prices rise and rise and rise. Twelve dollars for a stained vintage dress with holes in the pits? NO WAY. I found so many thing in similar condition in the same price range too.  Let's not even begin to discuss decor and furniture prices at thrift stores lately either. Yikes!!

 But here are a few awesome things I have managed to find for awesome prices lately...

I found this pretty, old lamp. We had a lamp in the living room, a really cute owl one, but earlier this year Kevin and I started reading in bed every night and needed to move it in there. So the living room was looking a little bare, and... dark! I had a lot more difficult of a time than I ever would have imagined finding a vintage lamp that I liked. I originally was just settling on this one, bought it because it was cheap and looked decent enough. But has certainly grown on me, I really love it now. The lamp was $3, and was already in working condition - not too shabby!

 I found a new camera, a polaroid colorpack 2. It was brand new, still in the box. Marked $2.20 but was half off! Quite the deal for $1.10, right?! I had a hunch it would use the same film as my land camera and sure enough - it does! I am very, very excited to have found another instant camera to play with. I've been carrying it around everywhere with me.

Lastly, a new music box for my music box/weather house collection! I found this at an estate sale when Ivan and Elycia were out a few weekends ago. We arrived at this one with tens minutes to spare before it closed. We did a quick run of the house and found this. My collection has officially outgrown the hutch though. The new one has to live on a shelf until I get a bigger hutch for my collection.
