What I wore; fox mittens

the details:
jacket - Target
shirt - thrifted (then sewn by me to fit)
pants - Target
mittens - c/o Uncommon Goods
camera bag - Jo Totes

It was finally cool enough over the weekend to wear my new mittens that Uncommon Goods sent me to review! I've been dying to wear these, they've just been sitting on my desk staring at me and making me yearn for cooler weather. Before I get started let me tell you a little about Uncommon Goods - They sell a wide range of awesome things including unique jewelry, green gifts, gifts for cat lovers and more! They basically have a little bit of everything, and all of it is super quirky! Now onto the mittens - when I first tried them on they definitely felt way too big, and I was super bummed since the face of the fox reaches the bottom of the mitten there was no way to quickly hem it up a bit tighter without taking the glove all apart. But after I put the mittens on with my coat and tucked them into the sleeves they seemed to fit much better!  They're the perfect weight for Fall (not too heavy but warm enough to keep the chill away) but will be great in the winter too since they could easily fit another pair of thin gloves underneath. According to their description they're knit from yarn spun out of the leftover material from apparel and upholstery factories that would have been discarded and they're made in the USA, totally awesome!! These mittens are also available in raccoon faces (and there are matching scarves!!!!) I definitely recommend them, as long as you don't have small hands. For reference, I'd say mine are about average, 7 inches from the tip of my middle finger to the bottom of my palm.

I'm kind of cracking up at these photos of me holding my mushroom hunting basket. It would appear as though I'm going on a picnic, which is exactly what I was aiming for when I bought the basket at the thrift store earlier in the year. After having multiple run ins with our overzealous park ranger I feel super anxious about being caught picking mushrooms, despite having a permit (I'm not really a fan of confrontation or authority....) so I wanted it to look like I was doing something really normal like having a picnic in the woods!

I'm going to get back to work now. I have a bunch of really great posts to work on for next week including "Estate Sales 101" (aren't you stoked?! I am!) and some peeks into my craft room.
xoxo

And yes, that would be my mom peeking out of the leaves in that one picture. She was trying to sneak into the pictures I was taking of myself and thought she was just sooooo funny. Haha, she's the best!
