Recently I realized I had a huge lack of glittery shoes in my collection so I took it upon myself to fix this. I took my Explode shoes from Blowfish and made them even more fabulous! It was super simple and doesn't really take that long at all!
you might also need... painters tape to keep the mixture off any parts you don't want painted if you're not a super careful painter, and a q-tip or exacto knife to clean off areas you accidentally got glitter where you don't want it.
1 // Prep your work space and wipe down your shoes! It's best to lay down a piece of newspaper or an old towel so you don't get the glitter mixture on your table. Make sure your shoes are clean and dry before beginning!
2 // Mix up your mod podge and glitter. Pour a small amount of mod podge into your bowl. Don't pour too much or you'll have a hard time making the glitter to mod podge ratio a good one. For both of my shoes it took two little vials of Martha Stewart glitter.
3 // Apply the mixture to your shoes. Make sure to wait until each coat is thoroughly dry before adding another. After the first layer you'll be able to tell if you need to add more glitter to your mixture. My first layer barely covered at all so before coat two I added a bunch more glitter to the mod podge. It took me four coats to get the nice solid glitter look I was aiming for.
4 // Let the last glitter layer dry then add another coat that is just mod podge (no glitter!) to seal it all in.
5 // Rock your new one of a kind shoesies!
So far the shoes are holding up great! I've lost almost no glitter and they don't make a mess everywhere I walk like some store bought glitter shoes I've tried on.

matte mod podge, glitter, a bowl you don't mind possibly ruining, a paint brush and a pair of shoes!you might also need... painters tape to keep the mixture off any parts you don't want painted if you're not a super careful painter, and a q-tip or exacto knife to clean off areas you accidentally got glitter where you don't want it.

*Tip* You can use nail polish to paint the bottom part of the shoe if you'd like to give them a total make over! Two coats completely covered mine and gave it just the look I wanted.
Have fun!!xoxo
