A little over a year ago my mushroom obsession began. I'm sure I had picked and admired them before but on our annual trip to the property owned by my sister in laws family my interest really blossomed. With the help of Kevin, my nephew and my dad we picked a hefty haul that I've drooled over ever since.
This year, due to unfortunate circumstances, the trip was cancelled. I was bummed not only because I love camping with my family but my goal for this year was to pick twice as many mushrooms to identify as last year. But, as they say, every cloud has a silver lining and I got my wish - just a little closer to home!

Mushrooms are so incredibly plentiful at the park we visit regularly. The ground is just littered with them, ones so big they fall over and ones so tiny you can't see them unless you're really looking!
