August 17th (today!!) is National Thrift Shop day! To celebrate I'm going to share my top thrift purchases! I've found lots of fantastic things over the years but these seem to stand out in my head the most. (note: this list is full of items ONLY from thrift stores, not all secondhand places - the list would most likely look much different if I included those things too!)
In absolutely no order....
This cat puzzle, despite the fact I still haven't framed and hung it, is in my top thrift finds. I still can't believe it had all the pieces. originally blogged about here.
Shark trash can! While I still insist on throwing my fabric scraps on the ground as opposed to throwing them straight in the trash can this can does get an awful lot of use and definitely makes my workspace twice as awesome. originally blogged about here.
These shorts! I still think they're one of the most fabulous pieces of clothing that Goodwill has ever had. originally blogged about here.
Magic Garden. I'm not sure why this thing stands out to me, but I really do love it. I wish I hadn't destroyed it. I hope I find another soon (I'm well aware I can buy them new online but there's just something so special about finding things you desire dirt cheap at a thrift store!) originally blogged about here.
Of course my faux deer bust is on the list! My thrift trophy!! I'm most likely one of the one people in the whole world who doesn't think he's the tackiest thing ever though.
This bedspread is pretty high on my list of favorite thrift finds. I kept it in the closet for a long time because it's not queen sized but recently I wanted to put something pretty on the bed, tried it out and it fits surprisingly well! It's handmade from a bunch of different vintage fabrics. I like to think about who made it, why they made it and how it ended up at the thrift store. Do you ever like to ponder where your thrifty finds came from, who they belonged to, what they looked like? I sure do!!
I'm as crazy about this "Try A Little Kindness" piece as the second I found it. It's so pretty and looks really adorable in my dining room. originally blogged about here.
This was of the first non-obnoxious dresses I picked up at a thrift store and it was the start of a collection of blue vintage dresses. It's one of my absolute favorite things in my closet. originally blogged about here.
See all my thrifty find posts here. Also, don't forget to check out my Thrifting Tips! It's a pretty old post, but still very informative!
Happy Thrifting!!
