is definitely having the beach all to ourselves. I swear, it's the most under appreciated place anytime other than in the heat of summer. But, I'm not complaining - I love it!! The waves crashing up against the beach is such a calming sound. Each time we get there the sun is just about to set and it really just couldn't be any more beautiful.

And chasing seagulls is pretty fun too! ;)
Last time we were there (when these photos were taken) we found at least 25 dead monarch butterflies on the beach. In the fall they migrate south to Mexico, and I guess these guys just didn't make it. We found a few living ones, and even saved a few that were caught under drift wood. It was such an interesting experience. When I searched around online I found a few other people who happened upon the same thing on other beaches of the Great Lakes in previous year but said despite looking again each year they never happened upon the same thing again.xoxo
